# Removing repeated headers: the 9/11 Commission Report

Long reports repeat the chapter title and page number on every page, and a line-by-line conversion puts them in the middle of sentences. On the 585-page 9/11 Commission Report the EpubCC engine detects them by comparing pages and removes them.

Problem: Running headers and page numbers on every page, chapters and endnotes, 585 pages.

- Limitation: There is no independent reference text for this document, so only margin leak, time and memory are measured.
- Limitation: The margin-leak metric is only reliable for engines that split lines like pdftotext -layout.
